WidSets, the mobile widget platform, has officially launched, emerging from beta. I checked it out while it was still in private beta, and you can read the review here. Some important updates that are coming along with WidSets’ official launch include an advertising model for more targeted mobile ads, and the ability to share mobile dashboards with others. Think of this as a public Pageflakes start page. The companies will be collaborating on product development, marketing–it looks like they’ll be working together on pretty much everything, including emerging products. Jangl will be using Jajah’s infrastructure to deliver phone services on a global scale, with will help it grow and reach more potential partners. The two companies will also be collaborating on voice advertising methods for mobile and landline calls, with Jangl becoming a publisher for ads, and Jajah supplying the in-call advertising tools to overlay these ads on calls. Hans Rosling, es un medico sueco fundador de Gapminder, creador de Trendalyzer (vendido a Google). Su software encara el problema de la representacion de grandes volumenes de informacion de la manera mas simple de modo que permita una reflexion sobre la evolucion y significacion de diversos niveles humanos mediante la interaccion y el juego. El video que acompañan estas lineas es una grabacion de la intervencion que hizo en TED y merece la pena ver como este super hombre trata una informacion tan delicada de forma tan sencilla de visualizar y la convierte en un verdadero show. Paul Otlet fue el gran hacedor abuelo de la wikipedia multimedia. La publicación de su Tratado de Documentación en 1932 (un libro sobre libros como él lo llamaba) reflejó lo que más tarde sería la Web (o mas bien la wikipedia), una gran red de conocimiento centrados en una red de documentos conectados con hiperenlaces y clasificados y encontrados por motores de búsqueda operados por humanos al otro lado del teléfono que mostrarian los textos mediante pantallas de televisión (las cuales incluso podían dividirse en varias partes para mostrar diferentes documentos). Como otros grandes de la cibercultura, Otlet estaba obsesionado por hacer la información libre y ofrecerla sin limitaciones a cualquiera independientemente de su nivel económico o social.
